Religious Education
RE: At Blenheim, the children are taught about the most common world religions. Our Religious Education curriculum provides pupils with an enquiry-based approach to learning. This allows children to respect and tolerate other religions and allows then to recognise how their peers may worship. It also helps them to gain a vital understanding of religion in their local community.
Christianity is extensively taught throughout the school with the themes of Christmas and Easter represented through parental workshops, the Key Stage 1 nativity and the Easter bonnet parade. Within our units, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Sikhism, and Islam are covered in depth. Children also learn about different themes linked to these religions such as hoe religion has changed over time in their local area. This is supplemented with visits to local places of worship. The curriculum al so covers opportunities for SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural) development as well as addressing British Values. Curriculum.
