The Government believes that the Pupil Premium is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.
The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 and is allocated to schools to work with pupils who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the last six years.
At Blenheim Primary School, Pupil Premium money is carefully spent and tracked. We ensure that there is a whole school focus on continuing to close the gap in attainment and achievement between free school meal and non-free school meal children.

Children in Reception, Years 1 & 2, receive Universal Free School Meals which means you do not have to pay for their school dinner. However, we would strongly encourage all parents who are eligible, regardless of which year group their child is in, to apply for Free School Meals as the school receives extra funding which can improve your child’s learning.
